Discover the most famous sites of Venice!
Join us on our 3-hour walking tour to discover the highlights of Venice as we walk beside the canals, wander into cathedrals and take small scenic alleyways to get us to our destination. Together with your local guide who will show you one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. It will be a magical experience!
Meet your guide in St. Mark’s Square and admire the architectural majesty of its East-meets-West façade. The interiors are just as beautiful, with mosaics and gold, which give an understanding why it’s known as the Church of Gold.
Our walk continues to the square, Campo Santa Maria Formosa, where you’ll see the church with the same name, apparently the first of the lagoon’s eight churches to be built and it boasts two styles, Renaissance and Baroque.
Take a stroll along the long promenade, Fondamenta Nove and take in the beauty of the canals and spectacular views of the North Lagoon Islands and Murano Island.
Head towards the Basilica di San Giovanni and Paolo, one of the largest churches in the city, and it was the official place where funerals of the Doges took place after the 15th century.
The San Giovanni and Paolo square hosts three unique sites: the Church, the Scuola Grande di San Marco and the Equestrian statue. The Great School of San Marco boasts stunning Renaissance/Byzantine style architecture and is now the city’s hospital. The statue of Bartoleomeo Colleoni is 4 metres high and one of the first equestrian statues standing on three feet.
Visit the magnificent Rialto Bridge, a famous symbol of the city and up until the nineteenth century, was the only bridge that connected the two sides. It was expensive to build but the people soon forgot about that, as its beauty overruled.
A few steps away you can see Marco Polo’s House, one of the most famous Venetians of all time and a world-famous explorer.
Venice is a true pleasure to discover and one so unique that you will feel like you’re in a fairytale.
